COUNTY FOCUS

Colfax - Colfax was created in 1869 and originally covered the entire northeast of the state to the Texas border. Colfax is located on the border of southeast Colorado.

Guadalupe - Bisected by interstate 40, Guadalupe County is home to more than 4,500 people living in eight towns, villages and cities. Among those are Santa Rosa, the county seat and largest city in the county, which is located along the Pecos River.

Harding - Harding County was created on March 4, 1921, the same day Warren G. Harding was inaugurated as the twenty-ninth president of the United States.

Mora - Mora County features beautiful mountains, high prairie grasslands, and winding rivers. Portions of the Carson National Forest, the Santa Fe National Forest and the Pecos Wilderness Area all can be found within the county borders.

San Miguel - Las Vegas, San Miguel County’s county seat and largest community, was once a principal town on the Santa Fe Trail. The town now reflects its history with several hundred buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

Union - Union County is known for its grasslands, ranches, and dinosaur tracks.
