In February, I hosted my 19th annual Student Leadership Institute (SLI) in Farmington and Santa Fe. I want to thank all the students and teachers who participated this year.  All who attended ensured a great day for everyone involved. The participants shared a lot of great ideas and thoughts on issues of concern and they will help make New Mexico an even better place to live.

Seminars

Each student who participated in the 2007 SLI attended three of six policy seminars that were led by members of my legislative staff from Washington, D.C. These seminars focused on many of the major issues we address in Congress such as health, economic development, and national security.

The 2007 SLI was held in Farmington on Tuesday, February 20 and in Santa Fe on Wednesday, February 21.  The 2008 SLI will return to Roswell and Las Cruces.
