In February, I will once again be hosting my annual Student Leadership Institute (SLI).
The 20th Annual Student Leadership will be held in Las Cruces and Roswell. The SLI is a half-day conference for high school juniors and seniors to come together to discuss important policy issues that our country and state face. It is my hope that the SLI will increase students' awareness of public policy and encourage their involvement in its development.
Each student who participates in the SLI will attend three of six policy seminars that are led by members of my legislative staff from Washington, D.C.
These seminars focus on many of the major issues that we address in Congress such as health, economic development, and national security.
To give outstanding New Mexico students an opportunity to discuss public policy issues affecting New Mexico and the country.
