A Prescription for Quality Health Care

In the U.S., many people have difficulty getting the health care they need.  More and more people are obtaining health care through managed care plans.  Though these plans may lower the cost of health care, in some cases the quality of care is being sacrificed.  During this seminar, you'll look at reallife situations from the point of view of the patient and the insurance companies. You'll debate the issues and develop possible solutions that Congress could make into law.

Questions to Consider:

  • Who should make the decisions about your health care treatment?  You?  Your doctor?  The insurance company?
  • What rights do you have as a patient?  What rights do the hospitals and doctors have?
  • How do you balance the cost of health care with the quality of health care?
  • What, if anything, would you do to change the system?
