I would like to thank all the schools who participated in the 2006 Student Leadership Institute. The students who attended shared a lot of great ideas and thoughts on current events.  These ideas will help make our state an even better place to live.  The participation of the students and their sponsors ensured a great day for everyone involved.

Each student who participated in the 2006 SLI attended three of six policy seminars that were led by members of my legislative staff from Washington, D.C.  These seminars focused on many of the major issues we address in Congress such as health, the environment, and education.

SLI 2006 was held in Roswell on February 21, 2006 and in Las Cruces on February 22, 2006.  Last year's conference was held in Farmington and Santa Fe and will return there next year.
